Gu Zhuowen, also known as Koo Chua Boon, was a prominent Chinese scholar, educator, and politician who played a significant role in the early development of modern China. Born in 1891 in Guangdong Province, Gu Zhuowen received a traditional Confucian education before going on to study in Japan. He later traveled to the United States to further his education, earning a master's degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Gu Zhuowen continued to advocate for reform and progress throughout his life, leaving a lasting legacy as a pioneer in Chinese education and a champion of political change.
